How would you describe your ideal partner?
She is quick to laugh and shares her humor with all around her. She loves the home but appreciates travel and adventure. She is nurturing, both with me and others (children, hopefully), gives love and knows how to receive it too. She is passionate, takes care of herself and is active. My ideal partner should care enough about herself to look good but need not be muscular or even go to the gym every day - much more important is that she be intelligent, healthy, and caring.
If you knew the world was going to end in 30 days, what would you do?
Build/buy/steal a very large and fast space craft to get up and out! I would live life to the fullest, treasuring each moment, I guess. Isn't that how we're supposed to live all of our lives?
If you had 10 million dollars to spare, what would you do with it?
Spare $10M?!?! Give some to friends and family (buy my mother a new house), save some, spend some, then give most to charity.
How often, and from whom do you ask advice?
When I feel that it would help - I'm not too proud to learn from others nor am I under the mistaken impression that I have all the answers to everything. However, when I do, I only ask people who have expertise and carefully evaluate the information to make my own judgements.
What quality do you value most in the people of your gender?
Honesty, integrity, cheerfulness. Sometimes challenge and competition.
What quality do you value most in the opposite sex?
Same as similar question above for same sex people. Except for the obvious!
What is a recent prominent event in your life, and how has it affected you?
My divorce. I was married for 4.5 weeks. What a joke. An expensive mistake. Very happy to now be divorced though.
What is the best advice that you will give to your children?
Never stop learning and growing.
What has produced the biggest impression (shock) on you?
Recently? That my country was stupid enough to elect GW Bush to president (twice!!). Also one of the largest recent disappointments...

The Crucible of Time by John Brunner, other science fiction stuff
What are your goals now?
Find love and a partner for life. Also, I am shifting my career to work in energy and alternative power from science and research.

My father, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Elie Weisel and all the surviors, the Dali Lama!
Do you have a lot of friends?
Many, many. I am very fortunate.
What qualities do you dislike most in those of your gender?
Seems like testosterone makes some guys very stupid. The machismo that leads some men to violence, to showing off, to abusive behavior, is an embarassment to the rest of us.
What qualities do you dislike most in the people of the opposite sex?
Vanity, preocupation with appearance and materialism, unrealistic expectations (guess many of these are complaints that can apply to men too...)
What would you like to change in yourself?
I have always felt too responsible for too many things, like I have always been the one who must fix problems. Life for me would be easier if I could relax, let some things slide, and to simply enjoy and be happy.
What are your weaknesses?
Who, me? Assuming that I'm not perfect, well, I can be cynical at times, judgemental at others, but rarely are these apparent from the outside.
What are your strengths ?
I am forgiving, very caring, extremely generous. I make an effort to see the bright side of life. I don't drink or do drugs.
How do friends view you?
Someone who is fun who makes people laugh. I guess they also see me as a reliable friend who makes time to help others. But really, this question should be asked of them.

Soccer, baseball, skiing, tennis, golf - I will play almost all sport. Don't play video games or board games much.
